Most of us don’t like to admit weaknesses, much less failures.

We often associate times of troubles with our weakness. I know that I have.

It is tempting to say that troubles and trials have made me strong.

As we learn from the apostle Paul, the truth is that our weakness allows us to experience the power of Christ as we surrender weakness to Him and allow His strength to take over.

I can acquire Christ’s strength whenever I recognize my weakness and lean on Him in times of trouble.

Are you relying on Him in times of trouble?

This got my attention today and I just had to share it with you.

One of the best tips that I can offer to a client having difficulty with a relationship is to let go and let God

Whether the relationship is old or new or involves a person we love, letting go and trusting God often presents a perplexing challenge. A test of our faith is required, especially when the difficulty involves a person that we love, to surrender the difficulty into His care, to trust Him with the problem and to let go.

I have faced this challenge numerous times. Over the years, the Lord has either allowed, or caused, the removal of a relationship with someone who I thought would become my partner in life. The reason has not always been clear, but the lesson has been unmistakably clear!

Trust and Let Go!

Do you have any relationship difficulties that God is calling you to surrender into His hands?

There is indescribable freedom in letting go of a painful past!

We may have been a victim of a terrible injustice, such as abuse, but we don’t need to view ourselves as a victim. We don’t want to let what happened to us in the past dictate how we live our life in the present. We have a choice!

To overcome what happened to us we need determination, looking forward and not back, at how we can use the trials we have been through to bring good that will benefit not only ourselves but others.

God allows us to go through trials for a reason. View them as challenges. Try to figure out what the reason is. See if you can recognize God’s purpose and benefit to your relationship with Him.

Remember, we are not defined by what we’ve been through, or by who we used to be. We are defined by who God says we are now. If we have surrendered ourself to the Lord, then we have been made new in Christ! (2 Corinthians 5:17 ). We are no longer victims. We are victors and we are wearing His robe of righteousness.

Are you choosing to become the man or woman God made you to be?

Are you ready to let your burdens go? Do you have a faith that rests?

We may desire to do God’s will and bring Him glory, but all of our effort and struggling can bring disappointment and even a sense of hopelessness over time.

Andrew Murray, the nineteenth century writer and pastor, writes that God is the only source of power. He is the Almighty and He works all. He writes, “Entering the rest of God is the ceasing from self-effort, and the yielding up oneself in the full surrender of faith to God’s working.”

Jesus wants to bring us into union with Himself into the place of rest and love. Isn’t this reassuring?

Have you been able to give your problems, pressures and difficulties to Him? Will you allow Him to do the work to bring you into His rest?

Has your faith grown enough that you can let go of your burdens and rest in Him?

Our efforts to do God’s will and bring Him glory often become a struggle that ends in disappointment and, over time, lead us to a sense of hopelessness.

Andrew Murray, a pre-eminent author and pastor, emphasizing that God, the Almighty, works all, concludes that He is the only source of power. He writes, “Entering the rest of God is the ceasing from self-effort, and the yielding up of oneself in the full surrender of faith to God’s working.”

Scripture confirms that Jesus wants to bring us into union with Himself and to a place of rest and love. Isn’t this reassuring?

Have you been able to give your problems, pressures and difficulties to Him? Can you trust Him to take up your burdens and struggling and enter His rest?

I am choosing to begin this Monday and this week by focusing on praise and thankfulness!

It is so freeing to know that it is not our righteousness that saves us, but God’s alone! Our inclination to work toward acceptance is misplaced – only He can make us acceptable. His gifts for believers include seeing us as righteous. This occurs only when we willingly let go of our dirty rags in exchange for His beautiful garments of salvation. That includes a robe of righteousness!

When you surrender yourself, you’ll be able to comprehend how valuable you are in God’s sight and you will understand why you should never be treated as anything less than a daughter of the true King of the universe.

Have you surrendered your rags?
