My thoughts are on the message of Easter and our celebration of “Resurrection Day”!

Is there a day more worthy of celebration?

Is there a person more worthy of celebrating than Jesus?

The significance of Easter is not just that death was defeated once, but that we have been given the opportunity to trust in the defeat of death for ourselves!

There is no death for those of us who have put their trust in the Lord as believers in the gospel truth of what Jesus did for us on the cross.

Death does not have the last word! Jesus’ willingness to endure the cross, and suffer an agonizing death, paved the way for us to experience victory over death!

Is there any love so relentless as His?

Through Christ’s suffering we have victory. “Victory in Jesus” is a well known Christian phrase and hymn. The victory reflects the fact of the healing of His wounds and His resurrection from death, all of which He suffered to clear a path for each of us who put our trust in Him to bring us into His kingdom.

How can we not honor the Lamb who suffered in our place and was slain for us? Every day, but especially on Easter (Resurrection Day), we should concentrate on the indescribable truth that it is through His sacrifice that we are able to be healed and pardoned for our sinful ways.

Whatever the extent or nature of our suffering, past, present or future, Jesus has given Himself as a victory for our healing and survival beyond death itself in His invitation to live with Him in eternal life.

Each of us is offered the opportunity for our suffering to be healed if we look to Him. This can be difficult when in the darkness of suffering, but if we focus on, and remember, the purpose in His suffering, there are great rewards. Our suffering and trials will likely test the strength and genuineness of our faith, but will result in praise, glory and honor for what Christ has done.

As promised in the hymn “The Old Rugged Cross”, as believers, the day will come when we will exchange all of our suffering for a crown.

Are you up for giving thanks for His suffering, even His death, for you?

When you understand God’s opinion of the care and attention that He put into creating you, you know that your value is off the charts!

You can put aside the notion that your value, in God’s sight, is measured in relation to the attributes or accomplishments of others.

God created you exactly as He intended.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

You are worthy because God says you are worthy. He loves you to the extent that He sent His Son to die in your place so that you could live with Him forever!

How can you not believe that you are God’s desired creation?

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentines Day should remind believers of God’s commandment to love others.  (Matt. 22:37-39, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27, Romans 13:8-9)

Before we can love others with a love that is true, it’s necessary to understand our Father’s love for us. As devotional author Chris Tiegreen puts it, “Before we ever know how to love, we have to know how to BE loved”.

For many of us, it can be very difficult to comprehend how God can love us, especially if we are filled with shame and guilt over past mistakes and failures.

As we come to understand the gospel truth that, as believers in Christ’s sacrifice for our sins, we become children of God and accepted into an eternal relationship with Him, we gain the understanding and ability to accept the fact that God loves us. In turn, this opens a door that leads us to a place where it becomes part of our nature to love others.

In other words, when you understand the love that God has for you, and that you did nothing to deserve that love, you will become naturally open to loving others, even when they wouldn’t normally appear lovable.

Simply put, loving others begins with understanding, believing, and accepting God’s love for you.

If this is a challenging concept, or an obstacle in your life path, I’m available to discuss it.

It’s already February and Valentine’s Day will be here soon!

A day to celebrate Love!

Valentine’s Day can also be a difficult day for those who do not have a significant other.

The good news is that we can all take comfort in knowing that we are loved with an everlasting love. We have a God who loved us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die in our place so that we can enjoy an intimate relationship with Him.

I don’t know where I would be without the love of God. He has given me all that I have, as well as all that I need, including the wherewithal for coaching as a service to Him and to others.

It is His love that fuels my passion for coaching and for helping others. His unfathomable love and grace are my motivation for wanting to share His love and to help others achieve their God-given goals.

God is love! Now that is something to celebrate!

Don’t all of us have reasons to complain at times?

Everyone has their own issues and problems to deal with that few, if any, others are ever aware of.

As believers, Jesus cares and provides every need, whether we recognize it or not.

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

As Paul tells us, at a time when he was hurting and had a ton of problems, he was learning to be content. It is something we have to learn (Philippians 4:11).

Only by trusting the truth (Jesus) when He tells us that He has all of our needs met, can we know that we have nothing to complain about.

Need any help adopting this mindset? Let me know!

Transformation in each of our lives is a priority with God!

In order for God to be able to view us the way He wants – as “chosen and precious”, our transformation is necessary (1 Peter 2:4).

The path to our transformation is through our individual belief in Christ and the acceptance of His love for us in His sacrifice on the cross. This transformation requires the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).

Coaching promotes this transformation and renewal process.

Are you seeking the renewal of your mind through the absorption of God’s Word.

Have you thought about your own transformation and how that might contribute to God’s desire to transform the world?

Why did Jesus come? Despite our rejection of God in the Garden of Eden, His love for us and desire for restoring a personal relationship led Him to provide a plan for our redemption and reconciliation.

Christmas Day marks the introduction of God’s plan to come to earth in human form to demonstrate that, even though we did nothing to deserve it, His love for us is so strong that He was willing to sacrifice His only true Son to restore a personal relationship with Him for any of us who are willing to accept His offer.  Jesus was, and is, Immanuel, “God with us”!

No matter how lonely you may feel, you are never alone if you have accepted God’s offer and have personally accepted Jesus to fulfill that restoration with God. If you have, you can be assured of His continual presence with you. (John 10:28).

Immanuel is the God of Hope. If you are feeling lonely, invite Him in and ask Him to fill you with the joy and peace that only He can provide.

Have you accepted Immanuel, God’s Christmas gift of love?

It’s time to start taking in the joy of the Christmas season – the joy of welcoming Jesus as our Savior!

Good news is a rare commodity these days! All the more reason to savor the fact of His birth, astoundingly good news of His coming in an attempt to rescue us from spiritual death, our separation from God, and to offer us a free gift of abundant life with Him here on earth and, even more importantly, with Him in eternity.

What a gift! An opportunity to enjoy an intimate and eternal relationship with the Creator of the world! But, as with any gift, it doesn’t become ours unless and until we accept it. Scripture tells us that acceptance of God’s gift requires that we are willing to confess to having sinful tendencies and are willing to turn it all over to Jesus and trust Him for a complete makeover. Amazingly, in return, He promises an immediate, as well as eternal, intimate and joyful relationship and walk with Him! (Acts 2:28)

What a perfect time, despite the hardships and sorrow that exist in our world, to celebrate our access to joy right here and now!

Could there be a greater gift than this?

Advent, meaning ‘Coming’ in Latin, is the word most churches use to describe our focus on Jesus coming into the world as a baby. Advent is a time to concentrate on what Christmas is really about!

After telling His disciples that He would send them the Holy Spirit, He said to them, “Peace I leave with you, My Peace I give to you, not as the world gives . . .”

Today, the prospect of peace, both in our country and our world seems more distant every day. Our world appears out of control. We wonder if we can ever find peace and whether that peace will be lasting.

There was also a great deal of unrest in the world at the time of Jesus’ birth. As it happened, Christ’s coming brought conflict rather than peace, ending with His death. But, as He promised, following His resurrection, He will provide the gift of personal peace to all who are willing to surrender their pride and put their trust and faith in Him, the Prince of Peace.

Our acceptance of Jesus, a personal gift of Himself, includes His abiding presence along with the gift of His peace! He is with us continually, even in the midst of the storms. His peace is a lasting peace.

Have you accepted Jesus and the peace of His presence?
