Over the past couple of months, I’ve shared thoughts and verses about peace, contentment and satisfaction amidst our trials and tribulations. Today is about joy.

This is a subject that has presented a challenge for me in the past, and still does. Patterns of negative thinking can easily creep in when we’re not looking.

God is the only source of true joy! He provides joy with His assurance that He will never leave us. As believers, we can always experience joy in our assurance of both His love and His presence with us.

If you are a believer in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for you personally, then you can experience  joy regardless of your circumstances.

Additionally, God’s promise that He will never leave us (Deuteronomy 31:8) and that He will always be with us (Psalm 73:23) are reasons for perpetual joy!

God’s Word is also a sure source of joy and a delight to our heart! (Jeremiah 15:16) His Word brings joy because we have a God who loves us enough to  speak directly to us. No matter whether we find words of praise or correction, this knowledge alone is ample reason for joy.

We can also find joy in our daily provisions, in our relationships with others and in knowing His faithfulness to us.

When you think about it, is there really a good reason that you should not be joyful today?

In my coaching practice, when I am sharing truths given by God through His Word, one might say, by definition, that I am prophesying!

I do believe that God has encouraged me in life coaching to strengthen, encourage, and comfort others by sharing His Word and truths. I consider myself privileged to the extent that God uses me to help others in the same way that others have helped me.

Is it possible that God is calling you to be a prophet in this world? Is there someone you can strengthen, encourage or comfort?

Maybe you could use some added strength, encouragement, or comfort? If so, Im here to talk with you.

I want to encourage you today. If you’re feeling discouraged or overwhelmed, I hope this message will encourage you. Maybe you feel like there is no way out of your present situation or there seems to be a mountain standing in your way.

At times like these, I remind myself that God has good plans for me and there is hope! When I have a feeling like this, I set aside some time to look into God’s Word, especially to read and think about the good news of salvation, the new life that Jesus brings, and the wonderful plan that He has for me.

I want you to understand that there is reason for you to be encouraged as well! I am here if you would like to talk about it.

I love this quote by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as one I heard today in an interview with his daughter, Rev. Dr. Bernice A. King ~

“My father was a living epistle. He literally embodied the Spirit of Christ. There’s a power in believing and lining yourself up with God’s Word.”

Taking the first step is so important! When we exercise our faith, and our desires are lined up with God’s Word, the Lord will meet us there.
