I always find some excitement in the adventures that I encounter along my coaching path!

My coaching niche becomes more focused over time and coincides with my own personal development and spiritual growth. I sense God’s hand in providing a variety of experiences in His calling that enhances my desire and ability to provide help for my clients.

It has become increasingly clear to me that God is our Great Physician and that it is His love, strength and healing power that enables me to help others to discover His unique and special path for them. He alone gets the glory!

My own path includes a call from Him, and resulting desire, to help women with trauma in their past. This always includes an understanding of a need for a continuing growth and acceptance of their identity in Christ, a necessity for all believers to walk a path enabling them to gain confidence in Christ’s power within them to cast aside any shame or guilt and to experience a new path to freedom from toxic and abusive relationships and to find a place of healing, peace and joy.

Understanding God’s unconditional love is a key to staying on a path toward healthy relationships. Processing our past is one facet of coaching that I find important in helping clients to navigate around obstacles and avoid or overcome roadblocks along the way.

Each of us needs to find and walk on the path that God promises is available to us as believers in Jesus Christ. This life path should be one that leads to healthy and fulfilling relationships – with others, with God, and with yourself!

Are you on a path leading to the one that God wants for you to experience an abundant life?

We generally fail to recognize that our pain is often a useful tool in God’s hand for shaping our lives according to His plan. His love and concern not only sustain us and provide healing, they often help us to use our pain as a growth spurt that can move us closer to Him.

In her book “True You”, Susan Sohn states “It is our mess, pain and ugly that God uses to create the most incredible beauty in our lives. Could our pain be the broth that nourishes our souls?”

My coaching centers on helping clients find hope and healing through a better understanding of God’s love and purpose, ultimately including the ability to praise Him for His perfect plan.

Have you considered that God has a purpose in allowing your pain?

Let’s not ever forget September 11, 2001.

It is an especially good time to reflect on our need for God’s presence and help:

“The light of God surrounds me;

The love of God enfolds me;

The power of God protects me;

The presence of God watches over me.

Wherever I am, God is.”

Are you seeking God’s power and presence today?

Have you ever been a “fool for love”? I have!

We naturally tend to look to another person to give and receive the love that we all desire.

We unknowingly set ourselves up for disappointment with our expectation for security, only to find out that it isn’t really there.

A loving relationship has wonderful potential, but we usually learn, over time, that  human relationships are conditional and imperfect.

No human relationship can fulfill our underlying need for love that only our heavenly Father can provide.

As we learn to seek and to trust in His love, we can experience a perfect love that never disappoints. We learn of love from the one true source.

The security that we expect in a loving relationship can only be found in His loving arms.

Are you aware of, and learning to embrace, His great love for you?

Does anxiety interfere with your plans and goals?

When I feel anxious I become aware that my thought process has gone astray; I’ve wandered off on my own, my mind has become overloaded with thoughts about my problems. I’ve lost sight of God’s assurance that He cares about every aspect of my welfare and peace of mind and that He is watching over me and is working out His plan for my future, and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

As my thoughts turn to Him, Jesus’ promise to carry my burdens (Matthew 28:11) and provide His peace (John14:27), becomes a reality and pushes aside my anxiety.

We should never allow anxiety or fear to cloud our mind and control our thoughts. We only need to focus our thoughts on God’s love and promises. By studying His Word, and, when possible, memorizing key verses, we can keep our focus on what is most helpful.

Charles Stanley has penned a helpful summation: “He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. He knows absolutely everything about your situation. He knows how to produce wholeness out of brokenness. He knows how to build strength out of weakness. He knows how to heal what is sick. He knows how to bring reconciliation and love out of estrangement and hate. He loves you with an unconditional, unfathomable, immeasurable love.”

Are your thoughts staying in alignment with God’s thoughts?

As Thanksgiving nears, my focus on the things that I have to be thankful for increases. I look forward to a road trip with my son to spend time with my parents in their retirement community. We are thankful for the homelike atmosphere and the opportunity to spend time with them as well as time with sisters and other family members in the area.

One day, out of the blue, my son quipped that we are not a “real family”. “We’re just two people who live together”. As a single Mom, his comment hit home. I told him that I understood how he felt because sometimes I sense a longing for a classic family – unified in accord with God’s will for His children. Perhaps your situation leads to a longing for your idea of life as part of an ideal family.

Reminding myself and my son of all that we have to be thankful for helps to keep our minds from wandering into the depths of sadness over missing life in our idea of the ideal family. We realize that so many are in less than ideal situations and we think of how we can be a blessing to others. We find that giving encouragement and showing our Father’s love to others is fulfilling and uplifting. I’m always thankful for God’s provision in meeting our needs and allowing me to make my son my priority.

God reminds us that we should be thankful for everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18)! It’s a sure way of shining light in the darkness and causing the evil one to flee.

As believers, we are especially thankful for being rooted and grounded in His love and that His love is transformational. Knowing how much He loves us helps us to grow into the person he intends for us to become. He has taken me by my right hand, pulled me up out of my sin and shame, and lifted me up to sit with Him for all eternity. The love that He displayed in rescuing, mending, and restoring me moves me to want to share my good fortune with others!

If you need encouragement and more to be thankful for, I am available to talk with you.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving season?

Do you comprehend the breadth and depth of God’s love for you? (Ephesians 3:17-19)

Sometimes you just need to be still to allow His great love to sink in and find rest for your soul.

If you simply accept “His indescribable gift”, He will begin to change you from the inside out through His Holy Spirit living inside you. (2 Corinthians 9:15)

Do you have assurance of His love for YOU?
