The satisfaction that I enjoy when it becomes apparent that my coaching is helping a client to find a path out of a place of darkness, toward a place of light, has recently been enhanced by adding my certification in Crisis Response and Trauma Care. The focus of this area of coaching is on providing a compassionate and supportive presence to mitigate acute distress following a traumatic event. How people respond to trauma and crisis varies to the same degree that personality varies. What may be traumatic to one person may not phase another.

Among the benefits that this area of mental health coaching can provide are stability, comfort and awareness of the possible harm of making quick decisions. The consideration of a particular support system may also provide help along with addressing spiritual and other facets of mental help. The mere presence of working with a mental health coach, generally referred to as the “Ministry of Presence” is usually a paramount benefit in the relief of a traumatic setback in itself.

My own faith in Christ, as Lord of all and the ultimate authority, is what enables me to share what I have learned through my training as a coach with the goal of providing comfort, strength and a path toward light from the dark.

Are you experiencing stress as a result of trauma and the uncertainty around us? How is your connection with God? It would be my privilege to talk with you.

Five years ago, my son started to train at a boxing club with a friend of his from school. Although I was used to him risking injury playing football, boxing seemed a little extreme.

After watching him train (in the old-fashioned Olympic style), I have seen all the benefits he has reaped from his hard work: discipline, determination and endurance, to name just a few.

The Apostle Paul challenged Believers in Christ to fight the good fight of faith and to take hold of the promise of eternal life.

Every day we have the opportunity to get in the ring, develop our faith muscles and train in this good fight.

Do you have a conditioning program? A coach can help!

Do your sources for satisfaction often fall short?

Only God can provide real and fulfilling satisfaction.

Only He can be trusted to support us when we’re going through trials, and only He can guide you along a trustworthy path.

God is also able to bear your burdens and sustain you in your every need. (Psalm 55:22)

He asks only that you call upon Him in truth (Psalm 145:18) and trust in Him to supply all of your needs through Christ Jesus. (Proverbs 3:5 and Philippians 4:19)

Lasting satisfaction is the reward for those who know the love of Christ. (Ephesians 3:19)

Have you put your trust, faith, and acceptance in God’s offer of His ultimate gift that puts you in a relationship with Him and assurance of receiving all of the above benefits? (Romans 10:9-10)

Are you ready to let your burdens go? Do you have a faith that rests?

We may desire to do God’s will and bring Him glory, but all of our effort and struggling can bring disappointment and even a sense of hopelessness over time.

Andrew Murray, the nineteenth century writer and pastor, writes that God is the only source of power. He is the Almighty and He works all. He writes, “Entering the rest of God is the ceasing from self-effort, and the yielding up oneself in the full surrender of faith to God’s working.”

Jesus wants to bring us into union with Himself into the place of rest and love. Isn’t this reassuring?

Have you been able to give your problems, pressures and difficulties to Him? Will you allow Him to do the work to bring you into His rest?

I love this quote by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as one I heard today in an interview with his daughter, Rev. Dr. Bernice A. King ~

“My father was a living epistle. He literally embodied the Spirit of Christ. There’s a power in believing and lining yourself up with God’s Word.”

Taking the first step is so important! When we exercise our faith, and our desires are lined up with God’s Word, the Lord will meet us there.

Has your faith grown enough that you can let go of your burdens and rest in Him?

Our efforts to do God’s will and bring Him glory often become a struggle that ends in disappointment and, over time, lead us to a sense of hopelessness.

Andrew Murray, a pre-eminent author and pastor, emphasizing that God, the Almighty, works all, concludes that He is the only source of power. He writes, “Entering the rest of God is the ceasing from self-effort, and the yielding up of oneself in the full surrender of faith to God’s working.”

Scripture confirms that Jesus wants to bring us into union with Himself and to a place of rest and love. Isn’t this reassuring?

Have you been able to give your problems, pressures and difficulties to Him? Can you trust Him to take up your burdens and struggling and enter His rest?

As the Lord encourages a closer walk with Him, my faith grows and becomes more integral to everything that I do.

A growing faith increases my desire to share my hope in Christ and helps me to assist clients to understand and experience the rest that only God can provide.

Faith also increases our comprehension of His love and cements our trust in Him to meet our deepest needs.

God alone is worthy of our worship and He is always faithful to keep His promises to us. When we have faith in Him, we can experience genuine rest and His great love.

Many tend to look to their partner to meet needs that can only be met by the Lord.

Who or what are you putting your faith in? To whom are you looking to meet your needs?

God gives us the formula and know how to experience peace in the midst of conflict.

He also provides direction that assures the best solution when there’s struggle and division in a relationship.

He has the power to bind people together and bring peace when they put their faith in Him.

More on Peace from Charles Stanley:

“The Greek word for peace means to ‘bind together’ something that has been broken or disjointed. This is a superb illustration for how alienation between men and women – so often causing emptiness and disconnection from each other and God – can find a way toward unity and wholeness. God’s peace becomes available when they are united in their faith with God. This Greek word also refers to a prevailing sense of quietness and rest in a person’s heart and emotions…peace becoming synonymous with  tranquility, serenity,  and calm.”

Jesus comforted his disciples with these words just before he was arrested and taken away to die.

His words strike me as particularly relevant to the turmoil we have been experiencing over the last couple of years.

Our faith has been tested and shaken because of the uncertainty and insecurity in the midst of overwhelming threats to our safety and well-being.

There are storms all around us. We’re facing the probability that we will never see a world without tribulation.

On the positive side, our need for Jesus is all the more clear, as is the reason why we can ‘take heart’.

We find our peace in Him because through His sacrifice, He overcame the world and all of its troubles.

He gave the victory to those who put their trust in His finished work on the cross.

Considering all of the tribulation around you, is your faith in Jesus, and His promise of security and victory, keeping you above the fray?
